New Beginnings and a Fond Farewell
Long-time Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX) community member and educator Gina L. Grant has been named CLX's Director of Community. In this role, Gina develops programs and services to grow and add value to the CLX community through professional development opportunities, meetups, conferences, and other tools and resources.
Gina is picking up the community leadership baton from Jia Lok Pratt, who has served as CLX’s Network Curator for the past 18 months, organizing convenings and professional development offerings, and helping the community through the transition from Hive Chicago to CLX. Jia will depart her role with CLX in June and return to CLX member organization Sweet Water Foundation.
All of us on the CLX team are grateful for Jia’s clear thinking, focus, and collaborative spirit in guiding the network to its next phase and setting us on a solid path forward,” said CLX Executive Director Maria Hibbs. “We also welcome Gina to her new role and assure the CLX community that both Gina and Jia are working to make this a seamless transition.
Gina has been working at CLX in a part-time capacity for almost a year to support CLX partners, including youth-serving in-school and out-of-school-time organizations and initiatives, city agencies, and companies in developing learning pathways and using digital badging. Prior to joining CLX, she had served as Senior Manager of Digital Engagement at the Chicago Architecture Foundation (now the Chicago Architecture Center) starting in 2014 and was an active member of the CLX community.
