June 16 CLX Executives Meetup

  • 06.16.2022 @ 9:15am – 11:00am
  • 401 S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago, 60605

In 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King posed this question as part of the title of his fourth and last book, Where do we go from Here: Chaos or Community? The central message in the book is that of the importance of hope, especially instilling hope during tumultuous and uncertain times. Many youth activists who witnessed and participated during this period were galvanized by the rapid changes and progress, including the passing of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. However, some were disillusioned by the violence in cities and assassination of their leaders.

With all that is happening today in our world, our nation, and our city, it is critical as youth developers to provide opportunities for hope and healing. Chicago youth are seeking community and connection now more than ever, but how do we respond to this call?

For our June meetup, we will do things differently. We ask that senior leadership from youth-development organizations as well administrators/mentors attend.

We will reflect and discuss: Where do we go from here? CLX also will listen and share its strategic vision to build collective action for the out-of-school time, youth development field.

Join us on June 16 from 9 am to 11 am at Harold Washington Library, Reception Hall (Note new location due to COVID Restrictions)
