Butterflies N Effect

Butterflies N Effect (BNE) NFP was created by Bertina Booker a 26 year CPS teacher. Over the years her experience has seen some of the SEL issues that occur with children in and out. Until recently, she noticed that the issues had increased since the pandemic. As a result, BNE was created to help address the SEL needs of students in middle and high school age children, especially in the minority communities. The program is designed to give strategies in dealing with every day challenges in a positive manner through discussion circles, engaging activities, as well as mentoring students one on one or in a group setting. This program is designed to be an OST program and can support many of the programs existing in the CLX community through partnerships and assisting parents/schools in dealing with mental health of youth.
