Brent Hamlet - Horizons For Youth
Brent is excited to be a part of the Chicago Learning Exchange network. He's been on a personal mission of positively impacting youth and families since he was very young, tutoring school aged youth for the Chicago Park District. An Educator, Community Organizer and certified Life Coach with a little over 10 years of experience, he is committed to an Abolitionist pedagogy and has worked tirelessly on that end with underserved families in a variety of settings.
He is employed Full Time as the Middle School Program Manager with Horizons for Youth: A nonprofit in the West Loop that has a mission to transform children's lives by providing targeted resources, rooted in education, in a trusting partnership with their families and communities.
Brent received his Bachelor of Art from Alcorn State University in History and is currently completing Graduate Studies in School Counseling from Chicago State University. He is an Educators for Excellence, Young People For, and Black Futures Lab Alum, and Chicago United for Equity Alum. He is a proud leader with Workers Center for Racial Justice where he previously served as Vice Chairman of the Policy Steering Committee.
