• Created and facilitated a 6-week summer mentoring program in collaboration with Chicago Housing Authority (CHA).
• Developed a curriculum, provided speakers, and led a group of 4 officers in facilitating the CPD/CHA Neighborhood Youth Corp Program (NYC).
o This program worked to mentor youth and emerging adults through the utilization of multiple speakers across a diverse set of proficiencies; consisted of (6) weeks of engagements; the majority were virtual in nature, but with an abundance of caution and preparation, the NYC group was able to conduct in-person gatherings while maintaining social distancing. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and civil unrest, CPD leaned on numerous partners throughout the Chicago community to ensure that the NYC youth had a robust and fulfilling experience.
• Established teen/police related virtual and in-person workshops to build positive youth/police relationships and foster positive youth voice and engagement surrounding civil unrest.
