Shannon Dick - Civic Leadership Foundation
Shannon is the Partnerships Manager at Civic Leadership Foundation (CLF): a non-profit that partners with schools and organizations in communities impacted by violence and poverty to teach young people critical lifelong leadership skills, preparing them for college, career, and positive engagement in their communities. In her current position, Shannon works with CPS elementary schools and other community-based partners to provide CLF programs to middle school youth that are strongly rooted in social-emotional learning practices and project-based learning. This includes curriculum development, teacher/mentor training, volunteer opportunities, and assessment. Her work at CLF strongly relates to the Hive Chicago Network in focusing on civic engagement and connected learning. Prior to working for CLF, Shannon was the Community Engagement Manager for a health-based non-profit in Chicago, primarily managing their support group network. Shannon has an MA in Social Sciences with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Her professional background also extends to international development focusing on health and education in Rwanda.
