Rachna Shah - Youthquake

Youthquake is a civic engagement program that creates a respectful space for dialogue and action on important and politically controversial topics. This program seeks to not only bring youth together to communicate across their differences but also to move forward in this collaboration through civic and political action.

Youthquake is relevant to CLX due to its commitment to connecting the community; the program connects students, community members, and policymakers to elevate youth voices on key community issues. Equity, innovation, and collaboration are key values our organization shares as well and are reflected in our programming which brings together students from across different backgrounds, including urban/rural and socioeconomic status differences, to collaborate together on issues they care about in common.

Our program takes the form of a 5-module curriculum that can be implemented in schools, as an after-school program, or as part of community youth programming.
