Liz Futrell directs the Transmedia Story Lab at the University of Chicago's Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health. In this role, she leads the exploration of transmedia stories and storytelling to provide platforms for young people to share insights about the structural factors affecting their sexual and reproductive health. She collaborates with young people, researchers, and creative practitioners to refine and learn from innovative narrative approaches. Liz began her career as a high school English teacher and then served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco and a language instructor in Japan before earning her MSPH and going on to lead a global storytelling initiative focused on family planning and sexual and reproductive health at the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs.
