Brittany Robinson - Be Strong Families
Brittany was born and raised in Chicago. She has a bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation from Calvin College and has extensive experience working with youth since college volunteering with a faith-based youth organization called Young Life and spending a summer as an intern for a summer camp in Wilmington, Delaware. After graduating, Brittany moved back to Chicago, where she served two terms as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Chicago. She worked with middle school students in a school on the west side of Chicago, serving as a tutor and mentor. After City Year, she worked at a nonprofit called Girls, Inc., working with young girls ages 6-14 as a Youth Program Facilitator. While there, she led activities around wellness, STEM, social justice, and other areas of girl growth and development.
Brittany has a huge passion for the growth and development of young people. She believes all young people deserve equal opportunities to reach their full potential, and she strives to help youth find their voice and their place in this world and believes they deserve to have people in their corner rooting for them.
